Inclusion Pathway's mission is to integrate people with special needs into the community. We serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in New Jersey once they reach the age of 21.
At Inclusion Pathways we believe that there are many opportunities to be part of a community. We offer many different social, recreational and employment programs to promote and facilitate community inclusion. We help each family that we serve find the right path so that they can live an enriched life. Inclusion Pathways is opening a Community Center in Red Bank, New Jersey called Build and Brew Café to create employment and social opportunities for individuals with special needs where they can interact with the public.
Responsibilities
Responsible for teaching life skills classes to adults with special needs.
- Assist in developing a curriculum for budgeting, financial literacy, goal setting, self-awareness, interpersonal communication, time management, etc.
- Develop social and life skills needed for personal and professional success.
- Assist in identifying problems and finding creative solutions.
- Ability to understand different emotions and build self-confidence with each participant.
- Develop an inclusive approach that involves all participants regardless of skill level.
- Ensure that all activities comply with safety protocols.
- Effectively communicates with individuals to ensure successful outcomes.
- Contribute to a safe and welcoming environment for participants.
- Maintain accurate records of participants in the classes.
- Monitor participants’ overall health and well-being.
Qualifications
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience towards individuals with special needs.
- Candidate should have a high level of critical thinking- be able to evaluate information and make informed decisions.
- Problem-Solving- Candidate should be able to identify problems, analyze and find creative solutions.
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial literacy.
- Experience working with young adults or adults with special needs is a plus.
